Salary Range:

CAD$90,000 - CAD$100,000 / year based on experience | 10% annual potential bonus | CAD$75/month cellphone stipend | Discounts with Marriott Hotels Worldwide and properties within company portfolio.

This is a Corporate position, remote, with the ability to travel easily into Halifax, Dartmouth, and Moncton required. Ability to travel into the U.S as needed for meetings.

New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a hotel management company successfully operating within the United States and Canada, is looking for a

Director, Human Resources and Payroll Business Partner

to join its Corporate Human Resources team. This role would be remote with travel required to our properties in Nova Scotia, Dartmouth, and Moncton area. Reporting directly to the Vice President, People & Culture for the company, the Director, HR & Payroll Business Partner works to provide strategic alignment and support to the company's Canadian portfolio. This includes but is not limited to:

Training & Development

Traveling to CAN portfolio (currently 4 hotels)

Maintaining knowledge and compliance with CAN/Provincial Laws

Internal company compliance

Benefits Administration

Providing hotel General Managers and HR team with guidance on company policies, procedures

Management level offer letters with VP HR approval

Works in conjunction with U.S Director, HR Business Partner to craft the company Newsletter, Best Places to Work Application and other projects

Is a business partner to the properties and corporate office

Payroll backup and support (properties process their own payroll)

Collaborates with U.S Payroll Manager to answer payroll questions and ensure payroll compliance at Canadian hotels

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

At least 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources Management, prior payroll knowledge in Canada highly preferred. Prior experience in benefits administration preferred. College degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; will take work experience and certifications into consideration, in lieu of a degree.

Prior hospitality experience, especially in multi-unit hotel management highly desired.

Ability to travel by land to properties and by air as needed. Occasional travel to the United States for meetings/conferences may be required. Ability to carry out essential job functions for the role. Long hours sometimes required. Remote work from home, preferably within driving distance to Dartmouth/Halifax area.
