Intuit's Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) team is charted with defining and accelerating the company’s top growth priorities through strategy, M&A, and partnerships. We work on highly visible, direction-setting strategy and acquisition initiatives at the corporate level and across all of Intuit’s businesses. The team is focused on identifying, evaluating and executing on opportunities to drive growth. We collaborate closely with the senior executive team to define both the company’s overall strategy as well as strategies for specific business lines. Our projects often mirror the work at top strategy consulting firms and investment banks, but with an emphasis on driving impact in close collaboration with product and business leaders. The role offers significant exposure to senior leaders across the company as well as greater responsibility and career progression than often found in professional services.
Responsibilities
As a leader reporting to Intuit’s SVP of Corporate Strategy, you will shape Intuit’s future by developing business recommendations that will have a material impact on Intuit’s top and bottom line and help inform the company’s most pressing strategic decisions. You will lead cross-functional teams that consist of CS&D Principals and Managers along with business unit and functional team members. Engagements focus on a range of topics, including customer discovery and customer data analysis, economic and financial analysis, new market entry, and innovating new products and business models. It is essential that the individual selected for this position be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player. As the CS&D team is viewed as a source of leaders within Intuit, the individual will have exceptional leadership opportunities and potential to take on larger leadership roles across the company. Specific responsibilities include: Leading and developing a high caliber team of Principals and Managers, most of whom are former management consultants. Structuring work plans and project scope to deliver business impact on high priority issues. Managing combined direct and virtual teams in the execution of that plan. Presenting recommendations and leading discussions with all levels of management including C-level executives and the Board of Directors. Synthesizing inputs, identifying critical insights and developing compelling recommendations for both internal and external audiences. Understanding and staying current with the competitive landscape as well as the latest thinking in strategic and competitive advantage. Providing thought leadership and ad-hoc strategic advisory to leaders across the company. Coaching and developing team members to be future leaders and to achieve their own development goals. Conducting leadership team and skip level reviews for a comprehensive understanding of the team and individual dynamics. Using multiple channels to gather feedback, including individual, 360 and employee surveys. Self-assessing, and personally learning and growing in the process. Building the Corporate Strategy & Development team’s brand within Intuit. Identifying and pursuing opportunities for Corporate Strategy to accelerate Intuit’s growth as well as achievement of business unit strategic goals. Proactively identifying direction-changing moves for Intuit and building a case for them. Minimum Requirements
8+ years total work experience with a focus on strategy including helping organizations identify and set the direction toward their most important goals and partnering with C-Suite executives to help turn ambitious goals into reality. Bachelor's degree and excellent academic record required; advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.) preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead end-to-end work process to structure complex problems, develop clear hypotheses, conduct analyses and drive actionable recommendations through a data driven process. Experience in building trusted advisor relationships and influencing others (including C-level executives); Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization. The ability to create clear, concise, and convincing communications including PowerPoint presentations; experience with communicating strategic direction through written narratives highly desired; comfortable in business and technical discussions. Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. Strong people development and leadership skills; able to manage multiple extended or virtual teams. Growth mindset for yourself and others; demonstrated track record of coaching and developing team members. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for understanding the fundamental drivers of business success and competitive advantage. A passion for helping consumers, small businesses, and the self employed improve their financial lives. The ability to develop a strong point of view combined with the openness to evolving that view based on new data; Collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker. Experience with approaches to testing strategic hypotheses and options (e.g., A/B Testing; Lean Startup Approach, Minimum viable prototype) OR a strong passion to learn and develop this skill set.
