Servier is a privately held leader in oncology dedicated to bringing the promise of tomorrow to the patients we serve.Launched by Servier Group, a unique global organization operating in more than 150 countries and governed by a non-profit foundation, Servier in the U.S. is a privately held Oncology leader and has the resources and network of an established global pharmaceutical company, while operating with the nimble and entrepreneurial spirit of a biotech.Role SummaryThe Director, FP&A Business Partner is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial planning and analysis processes in a professional and knowledgeable manner, with a focus on data integrity, reporting and process enhancement, as well as regularly interfacing with business partners. The Director will report to the Senior Director, FP&A and be an integral member of the finance leadership team. This role will collaborate closely with accounting colleagues and cross-functionally with partners within Medical, R&D, Tech Ops, Administration, and Global Finance.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis role will support Global R&D, the US Medical function, and Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs).Ensure the accurate and timely accounting and reporting of all financial information in compliance with IFRS.Assist in developing and maintaining an adequate system of internal financial control within the Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Accounts Receivable departments to ensure compliance.Work with internal stakeholders to create functional financial plans and scenario analyses. Create and maintain robust financial tracking and reporting that empowers business leaders to actively manage functional spend, including variance reporting for budget and forecasts, understanding and explaining cost drivers and variances, as well as opportunities and risks.Recommend corrective actions to improve results.Help to streamline and execute robust, efficient, and accurate budgeting and forecasting processes that effectively operate within the highly matrixed and complex multinational structures.Support new system implementations or enhancements to systems to address planning and reporting needs (i.e. ERP or other business systems, such as sales, supply chain, workforce planning tools).Identify and implement, as appropriate and in conjunction with business stakeholders, Finance, Accounting, Procurement and legal business process improvements to improve efficiencies, reduce manual efforts, reduce costs and streamline processes. Participate/lead training and education of impacted employees as well as best practice sharing amongst functions.Work with the business to identify and submit monthly accruals, review prepaid amortization schedules and propose adjusting journal entries as needed to ensure proper timing of recognition, statement of related Balance Sheet items and support for review and compliance with financial controls.Operate as a thought partner to the business by proposing solutions, adding views and constructively challenging.Build strong partnerships across the business.Demonstrate strong values; operate with the highest standard of integrity and respect for others.Create SOPs and controls.Support intercompany transactions, including allocations and related process flows and documentation.Provide key decision support through in-depth understanding and analysis of market, business strategy, resource utilization and quality of execution.Support business case preparation and special projects, including M&A and licensing.Education and Required SkillsBS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with at least 10 years experience in managing finance, controlling, or FP&A with demonstrated progressive leadership; MBA a plus and CPA is desirable.Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Strong financial acumen, preparation of P&L statements, Business Cases and analysis of business opportunities.Experience supporting R&D functions within Pharmaceutical or biotechnology Industry.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders.Experience in managing the navigation of decisions and their execution through multiple parties in matrixed organizations.Experience in a global or international role.Proficient with MS Office. Advanced Excel experience desired (e.g. macros, v-lookups & pivot tables).Proficient with Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, SAP is a plus.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; Demonstrable strategic thinking skills.Must demonstrate the ability to provide customer-oriented services, proficiency and expertise in simplifying and explaining finance related policies and procedures.Ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects forward independently.Meet objectives through collaborative working style, transparent communication and care in your work and interactions with colleagues.Objective, organized, self-starter, performance-oriented.High sense of urgency, work ethic, and must be flexible.Strong oral and written presentation skills and executive presence.Ability to lead and/or participate in special projects or tasks as they arise, including systems support.Ability and at ease in extrapolating, analysing and presenting information from different systems.Travel and LocationThis is a Boston based hybrid position.
