Duties

Responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program. Advises the MAJCOM SF IDS program manager of any base or site activities that will impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) program. This includes, but is not limited to, mission changes resulting in increase or decrease of resources, reconfiguration of resource areas, and construction of facilities on or in the vicinity of current and planned sensor locations. Reports and documents all IDS maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Monitors IDS false and nuisance alarms and, when necessary, requests assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Coordinates with maintenance and materiel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the IBDSS equipment and component. Maintains Technical Orders and commercial manuals that describe equipment components and operating procedures for IDS in use. Develops local training for system operators. Assists the standardization and evaluation section in developing certification standards for system operators. Responsible for the management and administration of the physical access control systems (i.e. Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS). Manages entry control point (ECP) related applications associated with DBIDS and the Air Forces Justice Information System (AFJIS). Manages the functional and operational sustainment of all data processing programs such as DBIDS, AFJIS and other systems installed and/or programmed for the ECP. Produces and maintains related reports for command echelon personnel. Provides feedback to supervisor regarding identified or perceived base access vulnerabilities with recommendations for their mitigation. Reviews the operational status of sensor subsystems ensuring all required testing procedures are followed. Researches, interprets, and analyzes guidelines to ensure all work complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Performs additional related duties as required or directed. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and squadron objectives. Performs administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all SF installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and SF annexes to all installation plans. Performs installation security duties. Leads and manages SF programs designed to provide a secure mission environment. Establishes requirements for police services, physical security, and Anti-Terrorism programs. Establishes liaison between SF and civilian law enforcement agencies. Manages police services. Develops and writes localized SF policies and procedures. Manages installation entry control, visitor center operations, and special functions/events. Administers and manages Resource Protection and Crime Prevention programs. Manages Air Force Justice information System (AFJIS). Performs and enforces the full range of SF duties within the military installation. Apprehends and detains violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turns them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of collateral.Requirements

Military Grades :

E-1 through E-7GENERAL EXPERIENCE :

All Series GS-0080 personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level, as cited on page two. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: Knowledgeable on the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System program. Experienced in advising supervisor of any base or site activities that may impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems program. Skilled in completing reports and documents the Intrusion Detection System program maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Experienced in monitoring Intrusion Detection System false and nuisance alarms and knowledgeable on how to request assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Competent in managing and administering the physical access control systems. Has the working knowledge of entry control points and related applications associated with the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems and the Air Force Justice Information System (AFJIS). Experienced in performing administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all Security Forces' installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and Security Forces annexes to all installation plans.Education
