Job SummaryUnder general supervision, protects the organization’s physical assets by maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior, and interior perimeters of the facility by foot, vehicle or bike patrol. This position is responsible for responding and overseeing emergency situations and coordinating with external resources. Assist the supervisor in the development, implementation and maintenance of security.Key Responsibilities:Provide security protection for all organizational facilities, proprietary material and personnel within the areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction.Monitor flow of personnel entering and exiting the facility. Audit personnel/visitor authorization and control activities to verify personal and organization ID.Insure the protection of colleagues, guests and patrons in and around Ilitch companies venues to include potential situations and physical confrontations.Maintain and update visitor management system, inspect commercial deliveries and outside contractors entering and exiting the facility.Visually inspect common areas to prevent any hazards, ensure proper safety procedures are followed and provide documentation of security, fire and safety deficiencies.Escort guests and organization personnel throughout the facility as directed.Oversee handling of emergency situations, including employee injuries.Respond to incidents, investigates, interviews and gathers pertinent/factual information to complete incident reports.Assist in the development and implementation of new and improved security programs.Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all security orders, written and oral, pertaining to assigned duties.Assist in the education of corporate colleagues on security related issues.Available to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years progressive experience with law enforcement, public or private security organization. Equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to navigate windows based security software, such as CCTV, access control, visitor management log in/out and fire/life safety systems.Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
