Job Summary:The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide clinical care to patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and assist with clerical office tasks.
Essential Generic Job Functions:Prepare Exam Rooms:
Set up treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments for patient visits.Assist with Patient Care:
Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document in medical charts.Operate Equipment:
Understand and maintain special medical equipment, including performing EKGs, PFTs, Audiometry, and Titmus Tests.Conduct Lab Tests:
Perform UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab tests as needed.Record Keeping:
Maintain patient records, file documents, and assist with collections and billing procedures.Computer Skills:
Use office software for system maintenance and data entry.Confidentiality:
Handle patient information confidentially and in compliance with privacy regulations.Patient Care:
Adapt care to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.Other Duties:
Complete additional tasks as assigned and adhere to organizational standards.Skills and Experience
Required Skills & Experience:Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Patient Interaction:
Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment.Technical Skills:
Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.Education
Required Education:High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Education:Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.Certifications & Licensure
