The
Certified Medical Assistant
is responsible for assisting in clinical care under the supervision of a nurse or licensed medical practitioner and providing clerical office support.Essential Job Functions:Prepares exam rooms, treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.Prepares patients for physician visits and assists as directed.Records patient vital signs and updates medical charts.Operates and maintains special equipment as needed.Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and lab tests after completing performance evaluation checklists.Completes and maintains patient records as directed.Assists with collections and billing procedures.Utilizes computer software for office management systems.Maintains patient confidentiality and delivers care tailored to the patient population's needs, including age, culture, and impairments.Performs additional duties or projects as assigned.Adheres to organizational competencies and behavior standards.Must be able to lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours a day.Required Skills & Experience:Excellent communication skills.Ability to interact with diverse populations in a supportive manner.Proficient in working in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of computerized data entry procedures.Education & Certifications:Required : High School diploma or equivalent (GED).Preferred : Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.Required Certifications :
AHA BLS Certification.One of the following certifications:
CMA-NHA (National Healthcareer Association)CMA-NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)CMA-AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)RMA-AMT (American Medical Technologists)RMA-NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)
Languages: Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)Experience: 1 year of prior experience required.
