Title: Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: Dallas, TX(Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months
Responsible for using data to drive strategic initiatives. Critically
compiles and analyzes information from various data sources in order to identify areas
of opportunity. Key duties include identifying improvements and leading related project
teams, ensuring key deliverables are met
Responsibilities
• Mines, synthesizes, and analyzes multiple and complex data types and sources
effectively for providing Senior Leadership insight on Divisional performance
• Proactively delivers analysis, updates and recommendations for case studies, strategic
business insights, and ad hoc requests
• Creates visualizations for Senior Leadership periodic reports and organizational
scorecards
• Reviews data and results consumed in Senior Leadership dashboards to identify trends
and need for further analysis to improve Company and Divisional performance
• Takes direct ownership of existing Team deliverables when needed to meet Team's
reporting timelines for Senior Leadership's update on Divisional performance
• Works cross-functionally with all groups and proactively builds relationships
across the enterprise that rely on reporting and analysis
• Works under the guidance of the Team's Manager while assisting the Team in various
initiatives led by other Team members
• Provides constructive feedback to Team members as needed and actively seeks the
perspectives of others
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of relational database concepts, and creating reports from data stored in an
enterprise data warehouse
• Expertly skilled in demonstrating mastery of statistical and analytical techniques that
arrive at fact based decision making
• Expertly skilled in using analytical tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI to
gather large data sets and better frame the opportunity space
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, with extensive proficiency in Excel (e.g. macros,
advanced formulas, pivot tables) and use of spreadsheets, word processing, and
graphics
• Expertly skilled in demonstrating initiative and possessing the willingness and skills to
adapt as technology/processes change
• Skilled in gracefully receiving steady feedback provided by Leadership and Team along
with offering constructive and respectful feedback to others
• Expertly skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the
organization’s strategic plan
• Expertly skilled in using logic and critical reasoning to identify the strengths and
weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Expert ability to write SQL against enterprise databases (e.g. Oracle, Teradata, Sybase)
• Expert ability to use various methodologies and statistical concepts to discover new
insights on traditional metrics
• Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to
develop creative ways to solve a problem
• Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
• Ability to constantly improve executive presence in presenting results of work to Senior
Leadership
Additional Experience
• Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in::
• Data aggregation, analysis and reporting
• Utilizing analytical platforms (Alteryx, Structured query language SQL, and
Tableau)
• Licensing/Certification
• Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge
