We make the world safer - and you can, too.What You'll Do in This PositionPlan, develop, implement and administer a variety of broad or unique programmatic or administrative or technical functions in direct support of Tech Services Site Infrastructure, Business Services, & Site Maintenance Facility Support missions. Provide immediate level guidance, work direction, oversight, and leadership to a functional work group(s), section or unit in an administrative or business support capacity.
Perform a wide variety of moderately complex, and diverse functions directly in support of Site common infrastructure and/or Business Unit level Programs. Receives predetermined work assignments with specific instructions from management. Exhibit competency at a high technical or programmatic level as demonstrated by both personal expertise and the effective direction and leadership of assigned work group. Assists less experienced personnel with more difficult aspects of work. Provide guidance to less senior employees to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Plans, prioritizes and coordinates work for others in order to meet unit or work deadlines. Operate under deadlines and may be subject to heavy workloads. Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Provide centralized control of a program or process that supports operations. Interpret and communicate programmatic, technical or process changes to operations personnel. Responsible for accuracy and applicability of procedures and policies that impact the day-to-day operations of the work group. Develop, implement and conduct training for personnel and management impacted by assigned programmatic, technical or support function. Train less experienced staff personnel. Assist the manager in the preparation, forecasting and reporting of organization performance, budgets, manpower requirements, workload distribution and the development of resource requirements. May be responsible for overseeing contractual obligations of work group, and to act as management representative to an external contractor. Duties may involve activities to resolve contractual issues subcontractors, the DOE, external auditing agencies, and effected internal customers.
Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements, both oral and written, with a variety of administrative and technical/professional staff and senior management; anticipates potential objections and influences others to adopt a different point of view.
Develop regulatory interpretations, procedures, special permit applications, training, and presentations in support of Packaging & Transportation Services packaging and shipping activities.
Contractor Assurance Systems (CAS) Program (e.g., Self-Assessment Implementation Program) - ensures performance areas are managed and assessed in a manner that maintains area health, identifies new and emerging issues, and responds to known issues, opportunity for improvement or trending.
Site Tracking, Analysis, & Reporting (STAR) System (e.g., Occurrence & Issue Tracking System), Causal Analysis and conduct of Management Review Boards, Occurrence Reporting (ORPS), and Corrective Actions.
Manage projects and tasks safely, compliantly, and independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.Security Clearance InformationSRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. Working knowledge of calculations in support of hazardous material and waste packaging and transportation determinations.
Working knowledge of DOE Site Packaging & Transportation operations, including DOE Orders and Federal Regulations (e.g., 460.1D, 460.2B, 49 CFR, etc.).
Quality Assurance - Program Principles, Operational Conformance, and Execution.
Standards/Requirements Identification Documents (S/RIDS) Functional Area-13 Packaging & Transportation (DOE Orders, Regulatory Requirements pertaining to Packaging & Transportation).
SRNS Assessment Performance Objectives & Criteria (APO&C) Functional Area-19 Packaging & Transportation.
Manual 19Q Transportation Safety.
Professional License and/or Certifications (Trained or certified to ship hazardous material via ground and air).
Experience in observing field work associated with Transportation and Packaging activities to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and Procedures.

Planning, managing, providing, executing Education Programs and/or Training Services and related Learning Support functions.
