A law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney to join its Sacramento office. This role is focused on providing comprehensive legal counsel to public school districts and other public agencies throughout California. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in employment law, with a strong interest in public agency law. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a variety of labor and employment matters, from hiring practices and contract drafting to handling disputes and disciplinary actions.Location

Duties

Advise public school districts and public agencies on a wide range of labor and employment matters.Draft employment contracts, manage collective bargaining, and address contract grievances.Handle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct.Oversee issues related to layoffs, discipline, and employee dismissals.Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare documentation for hearings and other proceedings.Maintain strong client relationships, focusing on public agency law and educational institutions.Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment law, preferably within public agency or education law sectors.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Passion for working with educational institutions and public agencies.Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications

Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.Skills
