Position SummaryThe Admissions Counselor position provides professional knowledge, advice, and counseling with the Chaminade student admission and recruitment process. This position is primarily responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate first-year and transfer students at Chaminade University. The Admissions Counselor will participate and lead activities that will generate prospects, applicants, and enrollees. The Admissions Counselor works in coordination with the Admissions and Enrollment Management teams to meet and exceed enrollment goals. This position is the face of the University to potential and new students, and will personify Chaminade mission and Marianist values to the public, other Chaminade departments, and team members within Admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Counsel prospective first-year and transfer undergraduates to apply and enroll at Chaminade University.
Conduct presentations to both small and large groups to effectively communicate admission requirements, procedures, and the benefits of a Chaminade University education.
Represent Chaminade University at events, school visits, to prospective students and parents, on- and off-campus, including off-island.
Provide information to prospective students and parents about educational opportunities both in class and on- or off-campus at Chaminade University.
Assist in planning and organizing events related to Chaminade admissions and enrollment process.
Review applications for eligibility and obtain information to determine admissibility, adhering to set departmental evaluation procedures.
Assist with design and development of content for marketing materials, digitally and in print.
Refer students to student success partners like Advising, Financial Aid, and Records, as needed.
Develop relationships within the internal campus community as well as external community partners.
Meet recruitment goals set by department.
Respond to phone, email, text and other inquiries from students and parents.
Perform data entry and data searches and retrieval.
Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations.
Implement all parts of the admissions and university strategic plans.

Education and ExperienceMinimum
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area and 2 years customer service or sales experience.
Preferred
2 years’ experience counselling students in academic and scholastic matters preferably in a University setting. Familiarity with Slate software or related higher education student management system.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Broad knowledge of institutional, post-secondary education.
Broad knowledge of college admission requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work with a diverse student body and employees at all levels in the University.
Proficient and comfortable with video conferencing software (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meets).
Familiarity with digital communication and social media platforms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels of the university.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Organized with meticulous attention to detail including accuracy in data input.
Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality.
High integrity and ethical standards.
Physical RequirementsDuties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds and carry, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
Other Requirements:
Must have a valid Drivers License.
Must be willing to travel to the neighbor islands and out-of-state for up to two weeks at a time.
Must be comfortable with long distance driving to get to various presentations and events on- and off-island.
This is a full time, non-exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and have a varying schedule when required.
Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required.
Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
