We are seeking a professional with a strong background in procurement and a keen understanding of the manufacturing industry to manage and direct all aspects of our purchasing procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily activities of the purchasing department and managing the company's supply of products and services. This is a permanent role with significant growth potential for the right candidate.Responsibilities:1. Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.2. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.3. Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.4. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.5. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.6. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.7. Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.8. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.9. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.10. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.11. Develop a purchasing strategy which meets budgetary and other operational requirements of the company.12. Implement new or improved supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.13. Review and manage supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and manage vendor relationships.Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role within the manufacturing industry.3. Proven history of managing a team and fostering a positive work environment.4. Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).6. Proven ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.7. Robust decision making and leadership capabilities.8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.9. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills.10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically.11. Certification in supply chain management or procurement, such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is preferred.Interested in hearing more?
