TLC-The Treatment and Learning Centers in Rockville is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 70 years. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Accountant position.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for day-to-day financial management and overseeing all accounting processes and deadlines. The person in this role will work closely with the CFO to ensure that financial and internal operations are secure and sustainable.
Manage accounting and general ledger functions, ensuring that systems are functioning.
Coordinate the annual financial statement and Single Audit compliance audits, including providing documents as needed and production of 990 and other tax forms in conjunction with the auditor.
Oversee adherence to billing & collection and manage organizational cash flow, and managing outgoing expenses as needed.
The Senior Accountant of TLC plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and controls TLC’s financial records, adhering to the highest professional standards consistent with the objectives and policies established by the Board of Trustees.
Record and maintain the general ledgers of TLC. Enter and post daily cash receipts into Sage 300 A/R module and reconcile to Raintree receipts. Post A/R, A/P, and G/L batches to AccPac general ledger. Prepare monthly journal entries necessary to complete financial statements. Complete administration overhead allocations to departments.
Ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts. (Bank accounts, Investments and Market Valuation, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Assets, Interfund due to/from accounts, Accounts Payable, Hearing Aid Accrual, Accrued Payroll, Deferred revenue accounts, Review employee benefit reconciliations)
Who should apply:
A seasoned financial professional (minimum 5 years’ experience required; 3 years’ experience in non-profits; candidates must have a higher education degree in accounting and preference for CPA certification)
Someone with strong Proficiency with Sage 300 software, Raintree, and Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word is desirable. Knowledge of computerized accounting and payroll systems is required. Must demonstrate good organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and with a team. Ability to be sensitive and confidential regarding customer and staff records.
