Job OverviewThe Senior Manager, Finance & Academic Services for the EMBA Programs works in a team environment with other Student Affairs Officers. The Senior Manager is expected to independently manage and collaborate with other senior staff on a variety of important finance, student affairs, academic, and enrollment projects and programs. The Senior Manager provides oversight, management, and control of the EMBA and UCLA-NUS EMBA (GEMBA) annual operating budgets, recommends annual student fee increases, prepares fee proposals, writes annual Student Registration Fee Contracts, makes budget recommendations, prepares and submits extended expense and revenue projections, budget reports, and analyses.

In addition, the position is responsible for:

Managing registrar functions and overseeing student affairs management, using extensive knowledge as it relates to University and Academic Senate policies.

Preparing EMBA quarterly course schedules.

Managing enrollment and elective bidding activities of the EMBA student population.

Managing and analyzing data from a variety of sources to prepare statistical analysis summaries for senior administrators about enrollment trends, course offerings, and program needs and requirements.

Managing all academic IT operations.

The Senior Manager uses in-depth and general knowledge of graduate studies, academic planning, and student affairs and services to manage responsibilities and to establish close working relationships with students, faculty, and staff within the EMBA Programs, the Anderson School, and the University. Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Finance & Academic Services. High degree of independence with minimal supervision for all day-to-day activities.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

Proven extensive experience in preparing budgets, expense reports, auditing expenditures, analyzing expenditure trends, utilizing technology to manage complex financial reporting systems and collection management. (Required)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to relate complex information clearly, concisely and diplomatically. (Required)

Proficient math skills (fractions, percentages, averages, etc.) to prepare financial reports, compile survey documents, compile evaluations, etc. (Required)

Demonstrated skill in managing time, setting goals and objectives, organizing work, and establishing and monitoring relative priorities to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner. (Required)

Highly developed interpersonal skills to work effectively in team environment with a variety of individuals, including students, faculty, and administrators. (Required)

Demonstrated ability managing multiple high-level responsibilities and complex tasks. (Required)

High level of interest in student affairs and current issues in business. (Required)

Ability to work accurately, with high degree of detail. (Required)

Ability to maintain confidential records and information, and exercise good judgment. (Required)

Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office, web development and survey tools at a proven, high level of competence. (Required)

Ability to work flexible, changing schedules (other than 8-5) and flexible, changing work weeks (i.e. Tues - Sat and/or Mon through Friday and some Sundays). (Required)

Ability to travel internationally and in the U.S. to program events or conferences. (Required)

Superior customer service skills and positive attitude. (Required)

Knowledge of University procedures and databases: AIS, PAC, MyUCLA, TSO, BAR, CDW, etc. (Preferred)

Knowledge and understanding of university purchasing and financial policies. (Preferred)

Knowledge and understanding of university travel policies, processes and reimbursement procedures. (Preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent level of related work experience. (Required)
