Senior Epic HIM Analyst/LeadLocation:
Houston, TX (hybrid - onsite once per week)
Senior Epic HIM Analyst
with over 5 years of experience in managing and supporting Health Information Management (HIM) systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Epic HIM modules, including Identity, Coding, CDI (Clinical Documentation Improvement), and Release of Information, as well as experience in efficiency tracking and security compliance.
Responsibilities:Epic HIM Module Support:
Provide comprehensive support and expertise in Epic HIM modules, including Identity, Coding, CDI, and Release of Information, ensuring optimal system performance.Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI):
Assist in the implementation and optimization of Epic CDI tools, ensuring alignment with clinical and coding practices.Security and Compliance:
Maintain system security, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. Work closely with the security team to mitigate risks.Efficiency Tracking:
Analyze HIM workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to streamline operations.Release of Information:
Ensure proper workflows and procedures are in place for the secure and compliant release of patient information.Collaboration:
Work closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and other departments to ensure successful implementation, upgrades, and optimization of Epic HIM functionalities.Project Leadership:
Lead and contribute to HIM-related projects, upgrades, and system enhancements.Training and Documentation:
Provide training and support to end-users and create documentation for system processes and workflows.Issue Resolution:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the Epic HIM system and ensure timely resolution of user requests.
Qualifications:Experience:
5+ years of experience working as an Epic HIM Analyst or Lead.Epic Certifications:
Epic HIM certifications (Identity, Coding, CDI, etc.).Software knowledge:
ServiceNow, 3M, Dolbey CAC, OnBase, Solarity, CEITechnical Expertise:
Strong understanding of Epic HIM modules and functionality.Security Knowledge:
Experience with healthcare data security and ensuring compliance with regulations like HIPAA.Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective solutions.Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.Project Management:
Experience in leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
