As a
Part-Time Bus Driver , you will be responsible for safely transporting our athletic teams to away games, practices, and special events. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our student-athletes and coaching staff arrive safely, on time, and with all necessary gear for a successful competition or event.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:Transport Athletes:
Operate a 57-passenger bus for short and long trips, safely navigating varied routes across diverse terrains and geographic areas.Ensure the safety and comfort of athletes, coaches, and staff by adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.Assist students and coaches with sports gear and luggage, ensuring all items are securely loaded and unloaded.
Route Management & Communication:
Review and confirm route assignments and schedules with Coaches and Athletic Administration before each departure.Report any accidents, traffic disruptions, or delays to the administration promptly.Account for all coaches, players, and staff before departing any location.
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety Checks:
Conduct pre-trip inspections to check bus tires, lights, and other essential systems to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Director of Athletics.
Compliance & Ethics:
Follow all state and federal transit regulations to ensure legal and safe operation of the bus.Perform all duties in a manner that aligns with the College's vision, standards, and ethical guidelines.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Advise the Director of Athletics on bus cleaning and maintenance needs.Ensure the bus is refueled and cleaned at NDDOT locations as required.Turn in accurate travel logs to Athletic Administration after each trip.
Minimum Requirements
High School DiplomaAbility to move and lift 50 + poundsMinimum 1-year CDL passenger driving experienceGood driving recordAble to pass criminal and DMV checks upon hire. Will be required to complete drug testing at the time of hire and random testing as required by the NDDOT.Strong verbal communication skills.Customer service-oriented and professional.Flexible schedule.Must possess a valid CDL for a passenger bus with no airbrake restrictions as required by the NDDOT.Ability to work with all levels of associates and students.Preferred Qualifications
Solid driving knowledge of North Dakota and surrounding states.Applicant Materials Required
