Job Summary
Assists individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the acquisition of the skills necessary to obtain and independently maintain employment in the community. Provides ongoing support to students engaged at various employment sites on campus or within the community. This support is individual-based and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the student obtain the maximum level of independence within their job. Provides the supports necessary to ensure success at future employment opportunities.Assists the development of student recruitment efforts designed to promote program awareness and increase student applicant pool.Travels to potential and existing organizations to provide supported employment services.May participate in conferences/symposiums.Ensures that all job shadow and internship sites have completed the required documentation and background checks.Collects and maintains data elements as determined by the program and evaluation staff.Knows and adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and regulations regarding student, job site compliance and external partner compliance.Maintains an organized database of student employment information including current and previous employment information.Builds and maintains partnerships with job sites on and off campus for continued student employment opportunities.Conducts the relevant vocational assessments and review of student goals.Maintains secure, organized and up-to-date files on job placement sites.Meets regularly with students and sites in order to appropriately match students to relevant opportunities.Monitors students' work performance and provides feedback and prompts when needed.Provides necessary follow-up on items discussed in the employment meetings, oversees the distribution of meeting minutes to partners and program staff.Ensures students have an updated resume on file and provides relevant advice to students regarding resume building.Reviews all materials associated with employment seminars/workshops and provides feedback/approval.Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Co-facilitates all employment related seminars and workshops.Develops flowcharts of deadlines/timelines for employment related programmatic activities.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of office or related experience.Desired Qualifications
Experience with job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).Job Category
