The Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine – Northwest Gary is announcing the search for an Associate Center Director. This is an opportunity for a clinical leader who will serve as part of the senior leadership team for IU School of Medicine Educational Affairs and IU School of Medicine’s Regional Campus System, supporting a “One IU School of Medicine approach” advocating for IU School of Medicine’s mission, goals, and values, and aligning with IU School of Medicine strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Institutional Leadership
The Associate Center Director will:
Serve as part of the Leadership Team for IU School of Medicine – Northwest.Serve as part of the senior leadership team for IU School of Medicine Educational Affairs and IU School of Medicine’s Regional Campus System, supporting a “One IU School of Medicine approach” advocating for IU School of Medicine’s mission, goals, and values, and aligning with IU School of Medicine strategic initiatives. This includes participation at monthly Regional Campus Deans’ meetings, quarterly meetings of Chairs & Deans, and other IU School of Medicine leadership meetings.Work in collaboration with the Interim Associate Dean and Director of the Northwest campus to ensure an on-campus schedule that allows students, faculty, and staff daily access to campus leaders.Education
Working with the IU School of Medicine – Northwest Leadership Team and faculty, the Associate Center Director will:
Assist in expanding and strengthening the educational program for our students.Participate in overseeing the curriculum and co-curricular experiences of the students, to meet or exceed LCME accreditation requirements.Oversee continuous quality improvement of the clinical education program at IU School of Medicine – Northwest, and participate in ongoing improvement efforts for all phases of the curriculum at IU School of Medicine – Northwest and for the school as a whole.Ensure that the IU School of Medicine Regional Campus is an active participant in our efforts toward curriculum reform and continuing curricular innovation, including involvement in our institutional self-study and ongoing monitoring of LCME standards.Engage with area health systems and serve as a liaison for the recruitment of clinical faculty.Support the continued growth and development of the Urban Medicine Program.Faculty Affairs
The Associate Center Director will:
Assist in the supervision of the faculty and staff of IU School of Medicine – Northwest.Help ensure the availability of effective mentoring programs for faculty at all levels and encourage faculty to pursue professional development opportunities in the areas of teaching, research, and service. The Faculty Affairs, Professional Development, and Diversity office provides multiple programs that will be a valuable resource for your own professional development as well as the development of faculty members on your campus.Encourage IU School of Medicine – Northwest colleagues to participate in appropriate School and University committees.Ensure that IU School of Medicine – Northwest representatives are active in the relevant professional associations and strongly encouraged and mentored to achieve officer and/or governance board status.Strive to have IU School of Medicine – Northwest faculty members awarded membership and hold office in prestigious academic organizations.Administration

Ensure your campus’ compliance with IU policies and procedures, and function successfully in the necessary matrix of relationships among IU School of Medicine, IU Northwest, community leaders, and other key affiliates of IU School of Medicine – Northwest.Ensure sound financial stewardship of IU School of Medicine – Northwest.Serve as an inspirational leader for IU School of Medicine by bringing values of innovation, scholarship, and a positive work environment to our campus.Travel within Indiana is possible to fulfill these duties.Anticipated FTE: 0.6+
