A law firm seeks an experienced and highly skilled Senior Labor & Employment Attorney to join its New Jersey office. This full-time (preferred) or part-time position is ideal for an attorney with over 10 years of experience in providing legal counsel to employers on a wide range of employment matters. The successful candidate will work with clients from various industries, offering expertise in employment law, wage and hour issues, noncompete agreements, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing primarily on counseling with potential litigation involvement.Duties:Counsel employers on a variety of employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, reasonable accommodations, employee leave, and enforcement of noncompete and non-solicit agreements.Draft and review employment handbooks, employment agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements.Advise clients on responding to administrative claims and audits, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with employment laws.Guide compliance with state and federal employment regulations for clients in New Jersey, New York, and across the country.Work with clients to develop strategies for mitigating legal risks and enhancing their human resource policies.Conduct due diligence in connection with corporate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions (preferred but not essential).Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations, especially as they relate to New Jersey and New York employers.Engage in client meetings, providing legal advice and representing client interests with professionalism and expertise.Requirements:A minimum of 10 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on counseling employers.Strong background in advising clients on wage and hour issues, reasonable accommodations, employee leave, and noncompete and non-solicit agreements.Experience drafting and reviewing employment-related documents, such as handbooks, agreements, and policies.Proven ability to respond to administrative claims and conduct audits.Litigation experience is a plus but this role will primarily focus on counseling.Solid academic credentials and a strong record of performance in law school.Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.Ability to manage complex client relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams.Must be admitted to the New Jersey and New York State Bars and in good standing.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Must be admitted to the New Jersey and New York State Bars, or eligible for admission.Certifications:Active membership in the New Jersey and New York State Bars.Skills:Expertise in labor and employment law, especially in wage and hour issues, accommodations, leave, and restrictive covenants.Strong legal writing and research skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and legally sound documents.Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.Ability to provide practical and proactive legal solutions to clients.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience with corporate due diligence (preferred).Knowledge of the latest trends and changes in labor and employment law.
