The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

The Director for Online Enrollment within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will lead transformational change related to the admission and enrollment functions for undergraduate students in online academic programs and courses offered under the umbrella of Digital Learning at UTK. Serving as the primary enrollment-specific lead for all online student enrollment operations, the Director will ensure the division is leveraging well-researched and innovative best practices to support the following functional departments within the Division of Enrollment Management: UG Admissions, Application Management, Financial Aid & Scholarships, University Registrar, One Stop Student Services, Transfer Center, EM Communications, and EM Research and Analytics. Position will serve on the Enrollment Management Leadership team and maintain oversight of online enrollment operations in collaboration with Enrollment Management Executive Leadership team colleagues and Enrollment Management departmental Directors within the division. Focused on the execution of seamless operations and service delivery for students enrolling in Digital Learning at UTK academic programs and courses, this position will work closely with key campus partners, academic departments and external stakeholders to meet the short and long term goals of the institution and division of Enrollment Management.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree-

• A minimum of five years of experience in an area related to enrollment management such as admissions, financial aid, registrar, and/or recruitment is required and a minimum of three years of online enrollment operations experience in university setting is required.

• Understanding of current issues and trends in Enrollment Management and the online education sector is required.

• In-depth understanding of higher education organizations, policies, process and systems supporting student-centered operations is necessary to be successful in the role.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree-

• Previous experience and knowledge of federal and state guidelines pertaining to higher education and the online education sector is highly desired.

• Experience using student information systems and Slate and/or Salesforce CRM systems is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Expert in online enrollment related operations.

• Adaptable, creative problem solver, collaborative, organized self-starter who is able to think unconventionally, understand the operations of online recruitment, admissions, financial aid, registrar and the overall enrollment cycle.

• Must have highly developed oral and written communication skills and knowledge of online recruitment models and online enrollment tactics.

• The willingness to adapt to new and changing national technology trends is necessary.

• The candidate will also have the ability to meet critical deadlines, effectively collaborate with campus personnel, and have outstanding organization and project management skills.

• Able to provide proactive and student focused solutions to complex operational challenges.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Center for Financial Wellness, University Registrar, Pre-college Research Excellence Programs, EM Research & Analytics, EM Communications, and EM Operations.
