Salary:
This is a full-time twelve (12) month position at 232 days with a minimum annual salary of $66,205.00. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon grant renewal.
Job Summary (Primary Purpose): Provide training and technical assistance of the administration of federal food and nutrition program operations at central and individual entity levels as directed by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Required Qualifications (Experience & Education/Certificates):
Bachelor's degree in Institutional Management, Food Service, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science, Business, Public Health, Education, or related field. Prior experience in child nutrition or as a Child Nutrition Director. Three (3) years training experience with adults. Experience in self-directed work. Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology into curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience & Education/Certificates):
Prior experience in child nutrition or as a Child Nutrition Director Three (3) years of experience in management of school or institutional food service operations. Three (3) years administrative, supervisory, or consultative experience in management of school or institutional food service operations Three (3) years training experience with adults Strong presentation skills to deliver complex information to diverse professional groups. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and direction of federal nutrition program regulations. Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology into curriculum development. Bilingual in Spanish Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to comprehend both verbal and written complex directives, guidance, and instructions Ability to communicate complex information to diverse groups Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and direction Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and direction of federal nutrition program regulations Skill to manage conflict well Skill in project management Skill in time management Knowledge of federal nutrition programs Knowledge of current research into effective practices and current trends in Child Nutrition Programs Knowledge of menu planning and quantity food production Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points-Based Food Safety Plan Ability to meet needs of adult learners Strong presentation skills to deliver complex information to diverse professional groups Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work one-one with Child Nutrition Directors of various experiences Ability to objectively evaluate data and provided pertinent feedback Ability to use any formal training to enhance job performance and /or personal development Ability to demonstrate effective training skills in differentiation strategies Major Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public. Provide technical and training workshops for school food service personnel and school business personnel. Assist in coordinating and sponsor regional trainings in all areas of program operations for Child Nutrition Program Staff. Develop and evaluate plan for providing technical assistance to each CE according to the needs identified by the CE, Administrative/Procurement Reviews and in various other reviews and audits performed by the Texas Department of Agriculture and/or the United States Department of Agriculture. Serve as a liaison among Contracting Entities (CE) (e.g. schools) and state and federal agencies. Collaborate with other ESC regions to ensure equitable availability of training specialists across the state for all training events. Collaborate with other regions to facilitate the development and implementation of statewide training. Train on Administrative Reviews (AR) for all ESC Specialists/Review training schedule to include ESC/TDA AR Review. Attend required state staff meetings scheduled by TDA. Attend and participate in special committees and workgroups as directed by TDA. Maintain program budgets, reporting information, and CE files according to TDA guidelines. Travel to CEs for in-person visits. Perform additional duties as assigned. Working Conditions (Physical/Mental Demands & Environmental Factors):
