Summary:
The Software Release Engineer will work alongside the Software Release Manager in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) software releases to ensure optimal performance of our systems.
Job Details:
Assist in planning, managing, and executing software and configuration release lifecycle with a growing customer base for Battery Energy Storage Systems (OS, FW, SW, etc.) This will include:Maintaining evolving requirements for configuration management of site installations, all equipment configuration parameters, and version controlsProviding customers with release notes including any customer-specific messaging that may be requiredScheduling release windows with each customerEither executing the release or providing work instruction for the Remote Operations Center to perform the release
Coordinate release activities across multiple teams, ensuring clear communication and collaborationMaintain release documentation, including release notes, deployment guides, and version control documentationPerform customer-specific validation on behalf of the customer or work with customer for each releaseWork with Product, Sustaining Engineering, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to create a set of tools to improve the speed and to lower customer impact risks of all release processesMeasure and report the status of our deployed configurations, including an analysis on problems encountered and resolutions foundTrack all configurations, including the rationale for configurations, in a formal and disciplined manner, to ensure continuity of service and scalabilityAssist in creating and maintaining all process documentation, maintenance, and improvements and review all supporting materials and processes on a regular basisParticipate with forecasting release dates and understand impacts on operating plantsPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Renewable Energy, other engineering related degree required2-4 years' experience in software engineering, release management or associated experienceAwareness and practical application of DevOps and Agile principlesEnergy storage industry preferredStrong customer and client service skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writingUnderstand current and future station network configurations and maintain them as neededLimited travel requirementsThis position is flexible with onsite (PDX/Tualatin), hybrid and/or remote

Compensation for this position is commensurate with location, experience and relevant skills. The national Average Base Salary Range is $84,000-$112,000. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and personal performance. Additional Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Short-Term/Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, EAP, 401(k), Flexible Work Arrangements and more.
