The General Ledger Accountant will assist in supporting accounting operations and overall company growth for a Galveston-based, diverse, and results-driven general contracting and construction management firm with an emphasis on disaster relief and commercial real estate.
Job Description
Assist business partners, Division Presidents, VP of Accounting and Financial Controller as neededAssist Senior Accountant during month end and year end close.Preparation of journal entries including cash receipts, inter-company transfers, and payroll.Reconcile balance sheet accountsReconcile bank statements and report discrepancies to the Financial Controller.Certify expense report processing and reconciliation.Compiling and analyzing financial information to ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.Prepare documents and support for audits.Maintain internal controls and procedures.Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practices.Other duties as assigned.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
5 plus years of experience in an Accounting role.Bachelor's degree in accounting.Confidentiality and integrity.Self-motivated individual with high attention to detail.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with Microsoft Excel and CMIC preferred.What's on Offer
