Job Description
Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax returns.Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, job costing, and budget comparison.Ensures compliance with IRS and US GAAP rules and regulations.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
5-8 years of related experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting required.Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.One to Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.Proficient in Yardi, Premier Construction, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Construction accounting experience preferredExperience in the Commercial or Multi-Family Real EstateDeep understanding of GAAP, financial accounting processes and SOX complianceExperience evaluating systems and process and construction job costing systemWhat's on Offer
