Job Summary:This position will perform general accounting activities at Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO). Individual will be involved in the general accounting activities and working with various branch locations. Works in a team environment to develop policy and procedure over general accounting activities and establish best practices.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe initial duties of the role include the following items:Month end close: journal entries, reviewing payables, balance sheet recons, income statement variance analysis, etc.Help establish policies and procedures and develop infrastructure for the expanded general accounting department.Learn the current branch process in order to centralize remaining accounting functions.Develop a strong level of knowledge regarding the "to-be" process.Establish procedures for the centralized month-end close process, working to streamline activities and accelerate the close timeline.Support the general accounting work stream team with requests as needed.The ongoing job duties generally fall into the following categories:Month-end Close Activities and General Accounting ResponsibilitiesOwnership over select general ledger accounts, which includes preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing account activity, preparing periodic (i.e monthly, quarterly or annually) account reconciliations, explaining account activity and preparing account analyses.Develops and maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of CCO Accounting policies, financial systems, transaction processes, internal controls and chart of accounts.Perform monthly analytical review of balance sheet and income statement for select branches.Properly apply GAAP and internal accounting controls and procedures to daily work.Interacting with the branch staff while providing excellent customer service.Help ensure timely completion of the month end close process by completing assigned work and assisting others as needed to meet deadlines.Maintain performance up to the standard of service level agreements with branch locations.Audit AssistancePrepare audit work papers for internal and external auditors.Be able to explain work papers provided, procedures followed and internal controls applied.Special ProjectsComplete special projects as assigned.Maintain Documentation and Continuously Look for Process ImprovementsRecommend updates to desktop procedures and process flows as part of best practice of maintaining current documentation.Continuously challenge current processes as the business evolves to suggest and implement improvements in policy, procedure and systems.Job RequirementsEducation and experienceBachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.Bachelors of Accounting required3+ years of relevant experience

CPA attained or in process
