Job Summary

The Fatherhood Engagement Specialist connects and engages fathers with child welfare involvement to promote healthy family relationships, strengthen father-child bonds and enhance the level of involvement of fathers in case planning and provision of services.

Job Duties

Outreach to engage fathers with Child Welfare involvement, orient and acclimate fathers to the program services and environment, as needed.Facilitate engagement, comprehension, and practical application of the evidenced based fatherhood curriculum among fathers by ensuring they comprehend the teachings and can implement them effectively either in their homes or in the community.Refers and links fathers to appropriate community agencies and ensures necessary follow-up as appropriate via phone and in-person, assist fathers with completion of applications to community services and/or programs, and advocates for father's need in support of shared parenting.This position advocates and assists with the facilitation with the Dependency Case Manager ensuring collaboration and open communication of all activities.This position serves as an advocate for the father at applicable court hearings, as needed.Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation as required of all contacts and activities in FSFNMaintain a resource guide of services that are father centered and identify any gaps of services necessary for fathers to achieve case plan goals.Attend job related trainings, meetings, events and participate in special projects as assigned.Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate Degree preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAwareness of fathers' needs, services and a knowledge of Duval County resources geared towards fathers.Valid driver's licenseLived or worked Child Welfare system experience preferredSchedule & Hours

Mon-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm- flexibility with schedule and will require work outside of normal business hoursQualifications
