We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to position the company for future growth; acquire new business at existing accounts and new accounts through the understanding of key customer needs; support customers with or without distributors in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner; and investigate and solve customer technical challenges with yeast derivatives and culinary powders.

In this exciting role you will:•Build momentum with new and existing food and human health accounts, enrolling customers to meet or exceed revenue, margin, and relationship engagement depth•Identify and develop customer relationship maps to build sustainable and profitable business•Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline of new business including both new accounts not doing business with Ohly as well as new business at existing assigned accounts•Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; develop and negotiate contracts and integrate contract requirements with business operations•Lead the development of a business development plan including how to systematically acquire new customers and grow sales in targeted market segments•Develop, document, and implement account plans & strategies•Complete monthly sales forecast and annual sales budget including both volume and pricing. Provide a monthly analysis of variance +/- from budget / forecast•Work with other Ohly team members to resolve customer issues, answer questions, or provide guidance and support•Coordinate with other team members to create and implement capabilities presentations, technical demonstrations, and presentations for customers that generate customer satisfaction and demonstrate technical knowledge and expertise•Develop financial business case scenarios for new products or new applications to achieve new business growth and meet customer requirements•Achieve growth targets for sales of new products & new applications•This is a home-based, remote position. However, traveling is required. Expect approximately 25% of time spent traveling to customer locations for face-to-facecontact. Regular travel to our lab space in Chicago, Illinois and offices in Boyceville, Wisconsin for meetings, as necessary. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs., on occasion.

Experience and Educational Requirements:•Exhibit demonstrated selling skills including but not limited to closing, negotiation, prospecting, sales planning, and consultative selling•Demonstrate tactics to expand account relationship depth and influence•Demonstrated market and technical knowledge, presentation skills, professionalism, financially minded, and skilled at using Excel•Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills•Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously•High energy, positive attitude, goal oriented, self-starter, motivated, disciplined•Proven experience developing new business at both existing and new accounts•Bachelor's Degree in food discipline or business-related field•Strong oral and written communication skills•Strong interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals at all organization levels•Demonstrated team player with planning, organization, and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously•Strong personal computer skills including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, MS Teams/Zoom•Up to 50% travel required

Nice to have:•10+ years of sales or business development experience in the food ingredient industry, preferably in savory ingredients, flavors, and extracts•Advanced Degree or equivalent in food science or related discipline•Relevant experience with food ingredient and/or dietary supplement companies (either working for or calling on)•Knowledge or experience selling food and/or health ingredients, with special recognition for yeast derivatives, flavor enhancers, and flavor & seasoningsOhly operates based on our values of doing the right thing for our people, customers, and planet.
