Description of Work
This position works in the Surveillance Systems Unit (SSU) of the Communicable Disease Branch (CDB) on projects related to Vaccine Preventable Diseases. This position is responsible for the message mapping guide project sending data to CDC and working with SMEs at both the state and federal level to coordinate sending those data electronically. Additionally, this position works to advance the priorities of the VPD group on projects such as linkage to immunization data, update of VPD diseases in the surveillance system, and others.

The Communicable Disease Branch of the Division of Public Health primarily deals with infectious diseases that are reportable by law to the state health department, as well as a few other communicable diseases of public health significance, such as influenza, norovirus infection and certain healthcare-associated infections.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
