The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for the Dean of the College of Education and Human Performance reporting to the Vic President of Academic Affairs. The Dean of the College of Education and Human Performance is a key academic leader responsible for the overall management, leadership, and strategic direction of the College. The Dean oversees all aspects of the college, including personnel, activities, budgets, and facilities, covering the departments of Graduate Teaching and Learning, Education, and Exercise Physiology. The Dean plays a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the college, ensuring academic excellence, and fostering a culture of research and innovation.

Essential Functions of the position:

Provide visionary leadership and direction for the College of Education and Human Performance.Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic programs and curricula.Ensure successful academic accreditation processes and maintain strong communication with external agencies.Champion graduate programs focusing on recruitment, student support, and completion rates.Promote faculty and student engagement in research, scholarship, and creative activities.Manage the college budget and resources efficiently, develop and communicate annual budget requests with input from department chairs and faculty.Make recommendations to the Provost regarding hiring, retention, promotion, tenure, evaluation, sabbatical leave, or discipline of college/school faculty.Engage with external stakeholders, including alumni, industry partners, and community organizations, to enhance the college's visibility and impact.Enhance student success and retention through effective advising, mentoring, and support services.Implement and manage technology, pedagogy, and delivery methods that support degree completion and retention.Address and resolve student, staff, and faculty relation issues fairly and productively.Participate in or lead other tasks as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.Education & Experience Requirements:

Doctoral degree in related field preferredAt least 2 years in a full time faculty position is requiredMust at least hold the rank of Associate Professor at the time of appointmentSkills/Abilities:
