Job Summary/Description
Plans, organizes, and directs the programs, activities, and functions of the Archer College of Health and Human Services. Oversees curriculum development, delivery of instruction, research, recruitment of students and employees, and compliance with all relevant accreditation standards. Supervises department chairs, faculty and support staff in the college.
Typical Duties/Job DutiesOversees the work of academic department chairs and support staff, providing direction concerning a variety of administrative and academic issues such as budgeting, planning and goal setting, curriculum, program development and delivery, accreditation, personnel, class scheduling, and policy interpretation.Reviews and approves student degree plans and certifies the completion of all academic requirements for graduation. Provides academic advice and guidance to current or prospective students. Analyzes and resolves student, academic, and administrative problems and conflicts in an effective and fair manner.Directs annual faculty evaluation process and promotion and tenure reviews; evaluates staff performance and provides counseling and feedback as appropriate. Provides professional development opportunities to faculty and staff in support of both teaching and research.Works with department chairs and other personnel in the development of the annual budget for the college; monitors expenditures; and insures compliance with accreditation standards, state regulations and university policies.Represents the college to both internal and external audiences; engages with alumni, industry and community stakeholders to build strong relationships that benefit the college and yield external donations and major gifts.

Minimum Qualifications
A terminal degree in an academic discipline housed within the Archer College of Health and Human Services or a closely related discipline. Two years of experience as an academic department chair, or equivalent. An academic record of excellence in teaching, research and service that meets the college's standards for appointment with tenure.
