POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Merchant is a key player in driving the success of product selection and development, providing essential support to the Merchandise Manager and Senior Merchandise Manager. This role involves independently analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) for both catalog and web channels while managing one or more product categories. The Associate Merchant will exercise independent discretion in decision-making and mentor Assistant Merchants and Merchandising Coordinators to cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Formulate and implement product strategies, assortment plans, and pricing structures for assigned categories based on in-depth analysis of historical performance, market trends, and competitor offerings. Exercise independent judgment to recommend innovative approaches that align with business goals.Interact daily with Creative, E-Commerce, Planning, Global Sourcing, Domestic Vendors, and Technical Design teams to ensure cohesive merchandising objectives. Proactively initiate collaboration opportunities that enhance overall product strategy.Conduct comprehensive market research, analyzing catalogs and retail competitors to identify key items and trends. Utilize independent analysis to provide actionable product development recommendations to the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager.Assist in evaluating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and independently propose strategic action plans to seize opportunities and mitigate risks, ensuring effective management of overall P&L.Mentor and guide Assistant Merchants and Merchandising Interns, fostering their professional growth and empowering them to take ownership of their responsibilities.Lead the creation and refinement of assortments that align with product launches and promotional strategies. Use discretion to make data-driven adjustments that enhance the product offering.Independently review current and historical sales data to identify opportunities for improvement. Make data-informed recommendations to maximize sales performance and drive business results.Ensure timely completion of all merchandising book building processes, proactively identifying challenges and suggesting improvements. Take the initiative to streamline workflows for enhanced efficiency.Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, ensuring that all stakeholders have adequate time to process changes and updates effectively. Use independent judgment to assess the implications of changes in overall strategy.Provide additional support to the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager with transversal responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall success of the merchandising team while exercising discretion in decision-making.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, Masters/MBA a plusMinimum 2-3 years of merchandising and product development experienceApparel experience (Catalog and/or web) is preferred.Analytical skills required.Ability to multitask required.Strong communication and follow-up skills required.Detail orientation and organizational skills a must.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must.WHY JOIN FULLBEAUTY?
