Department Summary:
L212 contains MITRE Enterprise Program and Risk Management thought leaders. The department is composed of recognized subject matter experts, who are proficient in a suite of program and risk management skills including: leading people, project communications, scope management employing Agile, establishing program metrics, developing schedules, and more. The Enterprise Program & Risk Management department provides support across a wide range of MITRE portfolios, employing ~ 90 highly qualified and experienced staff.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Application of project and program management process groups to MITRE sponsor environments
Project leadership, control, and reporting for MITRE projects
Development, implementation, and maintenance of program and project schedules/roadmaps
Development, implementation, and maintenance of project risk management process
Identification, development, and maintenance of program objectives and key performance indicators
Development and maintenance of project and program budgets and finances
Direct interface with project sponsor senior levels
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Mastery of project, program and risk management as would be evident by a Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP) or similar certification
Project leadership and supervisory experience of projects valued equal or greater than $750,000
Hands-on experience with Microsoft products including MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Strong verbal and written skills as demonstrated through presentation of guidance and analysis to senior-level positions and above, i.e., Senior Manager, Director, GS-14/15 etc.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of Agile values, principles, and practices as evident by a professional certification such as PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or Certified SAFe® Agilist
Experience serving in a Product Management, Release Train Engineer, or Scrum Master role within an Agile framework such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe® 5.0 or greater
Hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira, ServiceNow, or Microsoft Azure DevOps
Experience with MITRE project management tools – Clarity, MIHub, etc.
