Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Maintenace Manager, the Maintenance Planner primary duties are to plan and schedule all non-emergency Maintenance related activities for the Mine maintenance department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop detailed job plans following Morton MEWP processes ensuring compliance to OEM specifications, Safety and Environmental standards. Identify best practices in regard to providing acceptable equipment availability and reliability. Develops preventative maintenance schedules and ensures required parts and materials are available for completion of planned maintenance activities. Assist in investigation of unplanned equipment failures and develop procedures to prevent reoccurrence. Follow up on warranty items and negotiation of specific warranty considerations. Work closely with Maintenance General Supervisor and Reliability Team as well as Maintenance and Electrical Supervisors, OEM Vendors, and Operations personnel to meet all required production, cost and safety goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachhofers Degree3 years at a MSHA regulated mine site preferredMinimum three (3) years Maintenance Planner experience preferred or equivalent onsite trainingSafety experience preferred
Essential Job Functions
Establish, maintain and improve Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process. Planner must know what must be done and how well it must be done to ensure a high level of equipment reliability.Planner develops full scope of work needed to conduct the repair activity and enlist resources from the technicians when necessary to develop a solid scope of work. Provide detailed job packets to maintenance crews which assist them to do it correct the first time and seek to provide maximum tool time.Ensure best cost and time estimates of planned maintenance activities are recorded on each work order.Work closely with Material Control group developing required parts and material availability and appropriate storage controls. Create requests for new M-Numbers for parts that are ordered on reoccurring basis and those required for new equipment introduction.Prepare maintenance procedures as required as well as review and update as required.Responsible for accurate record keeping of maintenance history. The Maintenance Planner should lead by example of proper work order creation.Prepare weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules with special regard to the Operations production plan.Review the weekly key performance indicators and reports and adjust planning and scheduling as necessary to meet corporate compliance.Continuously review backlog data for all equipment to ensure notifications and work orders provide all the necessary information to process into planning and scheduling, reach out to the originator when required for any missing information.Review and participate in vendor/contractor management. Ensure contractors participate in required job scope reviews and comply with all Company and governmental policies as required. Contractors will follow the PM process outlined by Morton Salt and all PM Packets will be reviewed by Morton Planning.All other tasks as assigned by the Mainte ance Manager.
