The successful candidate will facilitate and communicate end-to-end transportation of shipments in a timely and effective manner.Act as a liaison between internal and external partners for shipment trackingClose interface with origin and destination points to ensure shipment schedules are met, and assess the impact of shipment delays on customers or operationsResponsible for providing, updating, and maintaining reports needed for tracking of all inbound shipmentsAssist in developing and overseeing the key performance indicators (KPI's) of the departmentManage container free time to reduce demurrage/detention costsMaintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvementsResponsible for end-to-end tracking of Import containers to final destinationDaily management of Dray Operations for multiple portsReviewing and monitoring Customs clearances and releasesAd-hoc projects and duties as assigned by managementQualificationsBachelor's degree and minimum of two years Import/Export transportation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge and understanding of all service levels and their importance, along with the billing structures laid out in the contractsProficient in Excel (formulas, and pivot tables)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to organize, prioritize, problem-solve, and multitask in a high pressure and quick decision-making environmentStrong operational skills and acute attention to detail, including the ability to independently manage the day-to-day operationsAbility to work flexible hours during peak seasonKnowledge of Import Terminology
