Position Summary:
To provide support to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Operations at the College of Dentistry in the clinical aspects by providing direct supervision of Dental Assistants and Dental Assistant Specialists. This includes hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and assignment of daily responsibilities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Dentistry related field. Will consider seven years post high school education/experience related to Dentistry, including completion of a Dental Assistant program.
Required Experience:
3 years of experience with dental assisting, including supervisory/management experience.
Required License:
Certification as a dental assistant or ability to obtain a dental assistant certificate within one year of hire date.
Required Computer Applications:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general dentistry/dental terminology, good communication skills, ability to work independently and supervise others, and ability to prioritize work projects.
Preferred Education:
Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist.
Preferred License:
RDH license or DANB certification.
Preferred Computer Applications:
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Supervisory experience and dental/medical clinical experience.
