A law firm seeks a passionate Immigration Attorney to join its team, focusing on EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) matters. This is a dynamic opportunity for an attorney with experience in immigration law to represent individuals in removal proceedings and manage a diverse caseload. Duties:
Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Provide legal counsel to detained and non-detained individuals, explaining complex immigration laws and devising strategic solutions. Manage and prioritize a caseload of immigration cases while ensuring timely and accurate progress. Conduct client intakes and visits to detention centers. Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions. Review and adjust immigration application packets to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law. Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and assess their legal options. Prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS interviews and testimony. Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for a range of immigration cases, ensuring all deadlines are met. Requirements:
1-5 years of experience in Immigration Law, with a focus on EOIR cases. Ability to manage a varied caseload and move cases forward efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Record of success in immigration law practice, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian cases. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. Experience with immigration case management software is a plus. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team of legal professionals. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:
Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing. Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Experience representing clients in immigration court and with USCIS applications. Ability to draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents for a variety of immigration matters. Strong client service orientation and ability to handle sensitive legal matters with care and professionalism. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of cases. Proficiency with immigration case management software preferred. Benefits:
