Position Title: PROJECT COORDINATOR
Location: CORPORATE-HOUSTON
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Position Summary:
The Engineering Project Coordinator will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are clearly defined and met. Key responsibilities include developing project plans, tracking project progress, and ensuring that all project deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. They will be responsible for identifying and mitigating project risks, resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, and ensuring that all project documentation is complete and accurate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project planning and scheduling: Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, including defining objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines. Create and maintain project schedules, track progress, and identify potential risks and issues. Communication and coordination: Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties. Organize and conduct project meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing relevant documentation. Ensure timely dissemination of project updates, status reports, and other relevant information. Resource management: Assist in identifying and allocating necessary resources for the project, such as personnel, equipment, and materials. Coordinate with different departments or teams to ensure resource availability and proper utilization. Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and reports. Prepare and present regular progress reports to project managers, stakeholders, and senior management, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and potential risks. Risk and issue management: Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and issues. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact on project timelines and objectives. Escalate critical issues to project managers for timely resolution. Quality control: Ensure adherence to project quality standards and procedures. Conduct quality reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary. Budget monitoring: Assist in monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and maintaining financial records. Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely processing of project-related invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims. Team support: Provide administrative support to project teams, including coordinating meetings, managing project documentation, and assisting with project-related tasks as needed. Foster a positive team environment and promote collaboration and effective communication among team members. Stakeholder management: Identify and engage with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and external partners. Build and maintain strong relationships, addressing their concerns and ensuring their involvement throughout the project lifecycle. Continuous improvement: Participate in project post-mortem evaluations and lessons-learned exercises. Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend best practices, and contribute to the development and implementation of standardized project management methodologies. Other Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in Power Generation or Facility Engineering. Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Experience with budget management and cost control. Ability to identify and mitigate project risks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive approach and ability to take initiative. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with project documentation and reporting. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Ability to travel as needed. PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
