Job Summary
This position will be responsible for assisting in the Comcast Corporation enterprise-wide controllership and consolidation process and activities supporting the preparation of SEC filings.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Manages certain functions of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting department, including consolidated activities related to the Comcast Corporation monthly and quarterly close and consolidation process, including managing the Reporting Package Request process
Partners with financial systems and divisional close and consolidations teams
Manages the preparation and analysis of cash flows for consolidated reporting. Reviews division submissions for accuracy by agreeing amounts to underlying support.
Reviews supporting data submissions from businesses used in the financial close process, including reviews of consolidated rollforwards
Reviews financial statement information and analyzes variances to prior periods and trends. Prepares and distributes Financial Statements Analysis to internal stakeholders. Prepares and presents quarterly Consolidated Balance Sheet Meeting materials.
Review the team’s activities supporting SEC filings (Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and 8-K Earnings Release and Form 1120) for Comcast Corporation
Enhance team’s supporting work papers for disclosures in SEC filings
Oversees requests for internal and external auditors while developing strong partnerships with internal corporate, divisional stakeholders and external auditors
Oversees the integrity of controls over the consolidations process through checklists and other methods to ensure compliance with the regulations resulting from SOX
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Identifies process improvements to consolidation and reporting processes
