Who we are and what we do:The Tennessee Inmate Disciplinary Oversight Board is a full-time, autonomous state board. The purpose of the board is to review the grant, denial, and removal of inmate sentence credits by a warden for good institutional behavior and to determine whether sentence credits previously awarded should be removed for commission of a major infraction designated by the department as a Class A disciplinary offense or for an inmate's refusal to participate in an assignment.The board is composed of nine (9) members appointed by the governor, the speaker of the senate, and the speaker of the house of representatives. The board is autonomous in structure and is, in all respects, separate functionally and administratively from any other agency.Job Overview:The person in this position will report to the agency Executive Director and the Commission Board and provide administrative support, coordinate office operations, support fiscal, serve as the Public Information Officer, and coordinate board meetings. The position is hybrid in that the work will allow for some work at home but there will be responsibilities that also require the person in this position to report to the office. Some travel may be required.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the executive assistant to the executive director and the Commission Chair. Ensure a strategic and operational approach to all commission administrative responsibilities. Liaison with other state agencies on behalf of the Commission and Appointing Authority. Coordinate the development of board and agency policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and state policy and procedure.Coordinate the legislative agenda for the Commission and serve as legislative liaison. Ensure the priorities of the Commission are presented and clarified. Manage and coordinate all fiscal responsibilities and liaison with shared services as needed. Coordinate and manage all office administrative operations (i.e. supplies, equipment purchase/maintenance, inventory, etc.). Assist Appointing Authority with Public Information Officer responsibilities and social media endeavors. Liaison with other state agencies on behalf of the Commission and AA. Prepare reports as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Business Knowledge, Interpersonal Savvy, Organizational Savvy, Comfort Around Higher Management, Manage Ambiguity. Strong Microsoft Office skillset required. Bachelor's degree in business administration or comparable area of study.
