Summary:
The Sr Cost Accountant is responsible for all aspects of inventory costing and analysis, account reconciliations, and providing analytic support for the finance and accounting areas.

Relocation Assistance :
$10,000 or 15% of base pay as a lump sum
Shift:
Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
(hybrid; 3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting up standard rates for labor, overhead, and other production resources.
Determine Standard Costs for new materials and manufactured items.
Prepare annual cost rollup and Inventory Revaluation.
Prepare all journal entries and reports required for the month-end close related to COGS or Inventory, reconcile inventory balances, and develop/update documentation as necessary.
Develop relationships across departments, including but not limited to, operations, purchasing, sales, engineering, and quality, to facilitate transparency throughout the costing process.
Monitor and validate weekly cycle counts and ensure proper controls over inventory counts at offsite and consignment locations.
Lead Annual Inventory Audit for Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods.
Analyze and provide explanations for monthly variances (PPV, Yield, Job, etc.).
Daily review and analysis of inventory, production, and labor transactions and post to the general ledger.
Maintain Appropriate Inventory Excess and Obsolete reserves.
Review inventory scrap and other adjustments.
Assist in annual Audits as it relates to all Cost and inventory activity.
Utilize software and reporting tools to enhance capabilities and streamline processes and analysis.
Support and Initiate system/process upgrades and implementations as needed.
Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed. Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies.
May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
6-9 years’ experience with manufacturing cost accounting
3+ years in a large ERP environment.
Ability to understand the financial processes unique to the manufacturing environment. Knowledge of supply chain, inventory flow, manufacturing processes and principles
Strong ability to assess problems, collect information, identify root causes, develop and recommend possible solutions
Ability to dig into and analyze transactional data within large databases to derive answers for management
Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within finance as well as cross functionally outside finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements, etc.
Positive attitude and highly analytical; enjoys challenges, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills
Ability to communicate in English proficiently (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension)
Ability to communicate and make recommendations to Sr. Cost Accounting Manager, Operations team and Leadership.
Preferred Experience:
Manufacturing
Working knowledge of the Epicor ERP system
Writing SQL Queries
Working knowledge of Power BI
