Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team in Scottsdale, AZ. This role provides opportunities for career growth in a supportive and dynamic work environment.DutiesDefend clients in insurance defense cases, including bodily injury and first-party/bad faith claimsManage civil litigation cases from start to finish, including drafting motions, discovery, and other legal documentsTake depositions and represent clients in oral arguments and hearingsNegotiate settlements with opposing partiesProvide regular updates and reports to clients on case progressWork independently and collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategiesAttend court hearings and trials as requiredMaintain case files and ensure compliance with all legal standards and deadlinesContribute to business development and the firm’s marketing effortsRequirements3-7 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on bodily injury and first-party/bad-faith claimsStrong litigation experience, including motion practice, depositions, and court appearancesSelf-starter with a proactive approach to managing casesMust be licensed to practice law in Arizona (additional state licensure is a plus)Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven negotiation and client relationship management skillsEducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertificationsActive Arizona State Bar license (additional state bar licenses are a plus)SkillsExpertise in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense and bad faith claimsStrong legal research, writing, and drafting skillsProficiency in handling cases from inception to trialExcellent oral communication skills, including in depositions and hearingsAbility to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlinesProficient with legal case management software and industry-standard tools
