The
Benefits Specialist
is responsible for the planning, administration, compliance, and auditing of the Company’s US benefits programs. This role will be an internal subject matter expert on US Benefits, and will partner with our internal HR Business Partners, and externally with our benefit broker and vendors.
This position will also coordinate and serve as the subject matter expert for leave of absence programs. This includes but is not limited to Short- and Long-term disability, Family Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation and other state specific programs.
What you will be doing:
Benefit Administration
• Participates and contributes to the strategic benefit design process annually, gathering and providing input from employees from all levels within the organization.
• Responds to employee benefit questions accurately and in a timely manner with a strong customer service orientation.
• Conducts New Hire Benefits Orientation, employee meetings, drives annual open enrollment programs and communication to the region.
• Creates strategic benefit communication plan for AMER region to drive engagement in benefit programs to help employees realize the Stratasys Employee Value Proposition.
• Executes the benefit communications to support the communication plan for the AMER region to drive engagement in benefit programs to help employees realize the Stratasys Employee Value Proposition.
• Partners collaboratively with the insurance broker and benefit vendors in preparing benefits materials, booklets, and other communications, seeking for ways to drive awareness & engagement of our benefit programs.
• Serves as primary contact for benefit carriers and the benefit broker.
• Administers benefit system changes and enhancements in ADP. Modifies system for vendor changes, new vendors, rate changes, carrier connections, and prepares system for open enrollment independently.
• Responsible for the timely electronic filing for Year End ACA filing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and timeliness/accuracy of required reporting and associated fees.
• Partner with payroll team to complete medical support notices and all correspondence to the state and employee.
• Assists the Total Rewards Analyst with 401k audits & reporting.
• Create and maintain internal audit protocols to ensure plan participant accuracy, compliance, and overall success of the plan.
• Perform routine reconciliations and quality checks of benefits related data.
• Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively creates communications and programs to raise awareness of employee benefit programs.
Leave of Absence Administration
• Manages all leave of absence programs through the HRIS systems, disability/leave vendor and payroll coordination.
• Leads the LOA process with manager, employee, and Human Resources to ensure proper documentation, ADA accommodations and ensures compliance to program
• Perform internal audit functions; assists in the preparation of documented processes and procedures with vendors for Short term, Long term and Workers compensation vendors.
• Effectively communicate with all internal stakeholders on LOA status.
• Partners with safety team to review and administer the company workers compensation program.
Must have for this role:
• 5+ years’ experience in benefits and leave of absence administration and related laws and regulations
• 4+yrs experience working with Benefits Administration System or HRIS as a user and an administrator, preferably with ADP Workforce Now.
• 4+yrs experience with SOX, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA regulations
Nice to have:
• Benefits Certification (CEBS or CBP)
• Experience with employee wellbeing programs
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce now
