We employ nearly 1,000 employees in more than 100 locations in 33 states and operate the largest railcar services network in the industry, encompassing 18 large railcar repair facilities and more than 75 field services locations in addition to a rail services division that operates three short line railroads and a dozen contract switching and transloading sites.We are currently seeking a Regional Quality Manager to support our Field Services division. The incumbent will be responsible for executing and maintaining the QA program within the Field Services business unit. This includes enforcement and maintenance of policies, procedures and standards for all governing bodies including Company programs, the Association of American Railroads, the Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices, Specification for Tank Car Tanks, any other related AWS and AAR rules and technical standards. The Regional Quality Manager is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and accepting or reject reports for nonconformance data with a focus on continuous improvement. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere within the Cathcart footprint, with heavy travel across the network. Specific duties and responsibilities include:Serve as subject matter expect on quality compliance for assigned locationsMentor, train and coach field leaders on quality assurance programsSupport continuous improvement and change management initiativesSupport the achievement of key performance indicators related to quality and deliveryParticipate in customer visits and auditsParticipate in regulatory audits, including after actionsTrain field personnel in quality policies and proceduresQualificationsDesired qualifications and experience include:Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience5 or more years of quality assurance experience, preferably in the rail industry or another heavy industrial environmentProficient in computer software applicationsAbility to organize and prioritize tasksAbility to travel up to 50% of the timeWhen doing field work, incumbents will work both inside and outside in ambient conditions including heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, arid and dusty. The environment requires working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and in confined spaces.The work can be very physical, including pushing, pulling and lifting. Personal protective equipment is required in the production environment.
