We employ nearly 1,000 employees in more than 100 locations in 33 states and operate the largest railcar services network in the industry, encompassing 18 large railcar repair facilities and more than 75 field services locations in addition to a rail services division that operates three short line railroads and a dozen contract switching and transloading sites.
The Inventory Specialist is a member of the corporate supply chain team responsible for the material transfer process for materials needed to support production as well as for maintaining material master and vendor data. Duties include supporting inventory managers and purchasing managers to assist in meeting material requirements. Incumbent will maintain standard pricing and will engage with location managers and logistics providers to move materials between sites.Act as central point of contact for all intercompany shipmentsConfer with shipping and receiving location to resolve all shipping discrepanciesAssist in implementation and maintenance of programs related to inventory control, procurement, data management and reportingUnderstand and monitor inventory accuracy measurements and take corrective action as issues are identifiedCoordinate inbound and outbound freight for all intercompany transfersCreate and maintain part numbersMaintain vendor pricing recordsParticipate in physical inventory and cycle countsLess than 10% travel requiredOthers duties as assignedQualifications
High school diploma required; bachelors degree preferredMinimum of 3 years of industrial inventory or similar experienceFamiliarity with AAR and company pricing standards and repair descriptionsDemonstrated working knowledge of purchasing and inventory controlsProficient in computer software applicationsNetSuite experience preferredAbility to organize and prioritize tasksAbility to make independent judgments within scope of responsibility
