STEAM Specialist
is responsible for the development and delivery of an engaging science and engineering (makers space, science experiments, building projects etc..) program that is appropriate to all summer campers' age and abilities. The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:15am-4:15pm*, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from May 19th to late August 2024. There will be mandatory training dates before camp begins.

Responsibilities
-Planning and implementation of Arts & Crafts programs for campers ages 5-14
-Design and implement daily projects, using different materials, which that are varied, enjoyable and engaging for our campers
-Encourage campers' self-expression through science and engineering exploration.
-Make use of the camp's natural environment, and use the art and science resources .
-Maintain involvement in programs, including: planning, facilitating, set-up, clean-up and preparation of materials
-Meet with supervisor regularly to plan weekly schedule of activities and ensure the schedule is followed
-Provide fun, educational and safe activities for campers
-Work effectively with co-workers
-Serve as a positive role model to campers
- Keep inventory of supplies and submit orders as needed
Requirements
-Training and experience in teaching children
-Experience in designing and supervising the making of decorations for special events a plus.
-Previous experience working with children, examples include but not limited to: camp counselor, tutoring, youth volunteer, or classroom assistant
-Follow the Malvern Day Camp policies and procedures
-Minimum of 18 years of age
Required upon hire
-Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, NSOR)-Willingness to complete additional training (Mandated reporting, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, etc.)
