The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. This role requires a data-driven professional with experience in SaaS and/or consulting, ideally with a background in financial reporting, revenue recognition, and financial analysis within a fast-paced, tech-focused environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, reporting, and process improvements to drive both client and company success.
Job Description
Prepare, review, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.Oversee SaaS revenue recognition in line with ASC 606, working with client-facing teams to align financial reporting with client contract terms.Assist in the annual budgeting process, develop forecasts, and provide variance analysis to guide strategic planning.Develop and analyze key performance metrics specific to SaaS consulting, including client retention rates, subscription renewals, and project profitability.Partner with sales, operations, and client services to understand revenue drivers, optimize billing practices, and implement improvements in reporting processes.Lead the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors, ensuring accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements.Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting, enhance data accuracy, and reduce financial close timelines.Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to senior management, advising on trends, risks, and opportunities for the firm's ongoing growth.Collaborate on the implementation and optimization of financial reporting tools, leveraging technology for enhanced reporting capabilities.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is strongly preferred.5+ years of experience in financial reporting, with at least 2 years within SaaS, consulting, or a related tech industry. Solid experience with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS companies.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and strong knowledge of Excel for financial modeling. Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.What's on Offer
