A law firm seeks a talented associate attorney to join its Towson, MD office. This full-time, hybrid position is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of litigation experience who is looking for a dynamic environment to grow their practice. The firm’s diverse caseload ensures that no two days are the same, providing constant professional challenges and growth opportunities.Duties:Represent clients in all stages of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery, in matters related to professional malpractice and employment law.Participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.Conduct in-depth legal research and assist in complex discovery investigations.Draft legal documents, including discovery requests, responses, motions, case summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.Review discovery materials, and depositions, and prepare litigation summaries and status reports.Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.Maintain close communication with clients, providing ongoing legal analysis, updates, and advice throughout the litigation process.Requirements:2-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on professional malpractice, employment law, or related fields.Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland. A license to practice in the District of Columbia is a plus.Strong legal writing and organizational skills.Comfort working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Proficient in Lexis legal research software.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active bar membership in Maryland.A District of Columbia bar license is a plus.Skills:Excellent legal research, writing, and communication abilities.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and opposing counsel.Proficient in using Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
