Position SummaryThe Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Administrator facilitates the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise application solutions. Work directly with stakeholders from City Departments including Human Resources and Finance to deliver solutions. Lead and perform system implementations, integrations, data design and management, report development, business and workflow analysis and project management activities. Perform a wide range of management, analytical and system maintenance functions. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.

Essential FunctionsServes as subject matter expert on multiple complex Human Resources, Payroll and Financial systems, databases, and application platforms. Manages implementation including installation, configuration, testing, data validation, support, and ongoing enhancements. Ensures ERP systems are kept current, efficient and match the needs of the organization.
Designs and develops ERP reports. Extracts, transforms and loads data between various sources. Collaborates with city staff and subject matter experts to identify information and reporting requirements.
Facilitates system training and communication. Trains managers and end users to ensure understanding; develops and delivers user group presentations and support sessions; prepares instructional documents and resources. Provides effective and efficient customer service to internal and end users.
Analyzes issues, errors, and trends, determines root causes, and addresses problems in a collaborative team environment. Provides troubleshooting support and advice in response to system errors by evaluating data, processes, and requirements, and working with city staff to resolve issues.
Provides technical assistance on applications in development and production. Participates in quality assurance and quality control checks. Consults with vendors to address problems with software systems.
Proactively surveys existing ERP systems and develops, recommends, and deploys solutions that enhance system optimization and user experience levels. Drives technology innovation, identifies alternative solutions, and implements new system technologies, capabilities, solutions, and tools.
Performs research and remains informed of industry trends and best practices and makes recommendations related to Human Resources and Financial applications to provide creative, efficient, and effective solutions.
Ensures successful application and database interfaces; installs and tests various system and application software packages.
Provides project leadership by exercising independent judgment in developing the ERP applications and managing the scope to meet deadlines.
Conducts project management activities including business case development, requirements-gathering, cost estimates, project tasks, Information Technology personnel support, and resource planning. Works with stakeholders to collaboratively develop project plans. Ensures all required documentation and reporting is completed in accordance with City standards. Conducts post-project evaluations.
Provides technical analysis including designing and maintaining complex applications and troubleshooting systems containing highly sensitive information. Accesses sensitive and confidential information concerning management policies in the area of collective bargaining. Complies with City and department policy regarding access, and maintains the confidentiality of the information.
Acts ethically and honestly; applies ethical standards of behavior to daily work activities and interactions. Builds confidence in the City through own actions.
Conforms to all safety rules and performs work in a safe manner.

Qualifications and SkillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of five years' experience in system management, system configuration, system data analysis and/or system project implementation.ORHigh school diploma or equivalent and nine years' experience in system management, system configuration, system data analysis and/or system project implementation. Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field may substitute for up to four years of experience.
Experience with Public Sector Integrated ERP Software preferred.
Experience in and a working knowledge of the following are preferred:

Knowledge of principles and practices of information technology database administration, security policies and procedures, backup procedures and information systems pertaining to City departments.
Ability to work independently and effectively on self-directed priorities and in-group settings with technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Ability to coordinate with vendors for resource requirements and monitor and ensure the quality of service that vendors/consultants provide.
Ability to analyze trends in the industry and make informed decisions about which alternative will have the best long-term value to the organization, based on knowledge of the organization and department's goals and objectives.
Ability to use computerized systems for extended periods of time in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
