Position Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the

Senior Accountant

will take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, financial statement preparation, and process improvement initiatives. This role involves both technical accounting responsibilities and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including reviewing operational results with management.

Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Perform and oversee balance sheet reconciliations and core journal entries.

Maintain the chart of accounts and hierarchy of entities, classes, and reporting units in the general ledger system.

Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting procedures to maximize efficiency and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

Support financial system implementations and upgrades, including requirements gathering, testing, and training.

Oversee asset accounting, including fixed assets and capital project reporting.

Collaborate with accountants and analysts to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience. Background in manufacturing accounting or smaller public accounting firms preferred.

Skills:

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data.

Preferred:

Experience in financial systems implementation and process improvement.

Work Environment & Schedule

On-site Schedule:

Work on-site in Charlotte, NC, 4 days per week.
