STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently on a fixed route or demand-responsive public transportation system in a safety-sensitive environment. This is a part-time position that will work no more than 29 hours per week. Requires non-standard or rotating shift work, including weekends and may be subject to call back.
NOTE:
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to the required testing policy per the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The incumbent is required to fully comply with all operational safety rules and regulations established by Bullhead Area Transit.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE/LICENSING & TRAINING
EDUCATION & EXPERIEN
CE:
High school diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) and one year experience in the operation of a transit bus or passenger van providing services to the general public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
LICENSING & TRAINING:
Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class C or higher with a "P" (Passenger) endorsement at time of application.
Complete National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) training based on assignment. Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position.*Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

Operates City transit/transport vehicles for the purpose of transporting passengers.Completes reports related to vehicle operations and maintenance; monitor vehicle status in order to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs.Collects and records transit fares.Receives and follows instructions from the radio dispatcher.Assists passengers by deploying ramps/wheelchair lifts and securing passengers with disabilities.Inspects and maintains transit vehicles, and cleans the interior of vehicles.Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.Provides public with information regarding directions and City services.Comply with and promote safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and regulations set forth.Performs other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE
